Manchester United are reportedly looking to offload the services of Fiorentina loanee Sofyan Amrabat.

The Red Devils’ season has been one of ups and downs and inconsistency. However, the team proved their character in the last match against Liverpool in the FA Cup. The team turned a 3-2 deficit into a 4-3 win.

It is expected that the summer will see a revolution in the team by letting go of players who have failed to make a mark on the team. Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat is one of the players who will be leaving the team. The 27-year-old has struggled to acclimatise to English football.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the possibility of Sofiane Mrabet returning to Fiorentina is strong. Manchester United are in the process of letting him go and have already started looking for a replacement for the Moroccan.

“Sofyan Amrabat hasn’t had the easiest time on loan at Manchester United this season since joining on loan from Fiorentina. And there’s now speculation about a decision already being made for the summer,” Romano said.

“However, my understanding is that no decision has been communicated to Amrabat or to Fiorentina so far. Still, a decision will likely come soon, and it’s possible that the Red Devils will opt not to keep the player and perhaps go in a different direction.

“Still, it’s worth remembering that Amrabat has shown real quality in recent years and performed on the biggest stage with Morocco at the World Cup.

“He arrived late on in August to United after almost no pre-season, so it’s not surprising he’s not been at his best. Let’s see what will happen in the coming weeks.”

Manchester United consider McKennie as Amrabat’s replacement

American Weston McKennie is one of the options being strongly considered by the club. McKennie had a loan spell at Leeds but did not perform well. He returned to Juventus and performed well under Massimiliano Allegri.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe believes that signing Weston McKennie is an affordable option to strengthen the midfield. McKennie’s contract expires in 2025.

The Juventus midfielder may not turn down the chance to play for Manchester United. And the start of a new era in the Premier League. Despite his struggles during his loan spell at Leeds
