According to media reports, Manchester United are looking to sign Juventus defender Gleison Bremer in the summer transfer window.

The centre-back position is one of Manchester United’s top priorities to strengthen this summer. With Raphaël Varane, Jonny Evans and Harry Maguire all rumoured to be on their way out.

Bremer is one of the options on the table for the Red Devils to strengthen the defence. The Brazilian star has been in superb form for Juventus this season. He has been named in the Serie A team of the season for several consecutive seasons. This explains his consistency in form.

Gleison Bremer has a £43 million penalty clause in his contract with Juventus. Manchester United see it as a fair price to pay for a defender of Gleison’s calibre.

The Mirror reports that Ashworth, the club’s incoming sporting director, has given his blessing to sign the Brazilian star.

Manchester United have also set their sights on Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite. The centre-back has been performing well in the Premier League this season. He has been called up to the England squad for the first time in the current international break. But what makes it difficult for United to sign him is Everton’s high asking price.
