According to Spanish media reports, Arsenal are interested in the services of Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz during the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are prepared to offer €70m (£60m) for the services of the Moroccan international. Diaz, who worked with coach Mikel Arteta during their time at Manchester City.
Diaz joined Real Madrid in 2019 from Manchester City. However, he didn’t get many minutes at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu. This led to a loan move to AC Milan in order to improve his game. Diaz returned to Los Blancos this season.
Brahim Diaz hasn’t won a starting position with Real Madrid this season. However, he has performed well whenever he has been given the opportunity. Something that has impressed the Gunners.
According to the OK Diario, Mikel Arteta likes the style of Diaz, who can play in several positions and has important individual skills that allow him to dribble in tight areas. He can also create chances for the forwards. The newspaper also reported that the Moroccan midfielder may not mind joining Arsenal given the potential arrival of Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid. This would make it more difficult for Diaz to get more minutes.
Arsenal’s interest in Diaz makes sense given his versatility in multiple positions in the midfield. Something that Arteta has always favoured and has signed players with similar characteristics such as Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
