According to Spanish media reports. Chelsea are set to sign Nico Williams in the summer transfer window to bolster their attacking line-up.
The Spanish international has been one of the stars of the league this season and has been in fine form for Athletic Bilbao, scoring six goals and attracting interest from a number of European clubs.
According to Spanish newspaper Mundo, the youngster is one of the solutions that Chelsea will turn to in order to strengthen their attacking line, especially as the team is struggling this season in the English league.
The same newspaper reported that the 21-year-old has a penalty clause of $55 million. Chelsea are expected to face strong competition from Barcelona for the player.
Chelsea are currently 11th in the Premier League standings with 36 points. This is considered disappointing by the club’s fans. The team may not be in a position to play in a European competition next season.
