Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has labelled Aston Villa as dangerous opponents and has praised Unai Emery for the work he is doing in the team’s development.

Arsenal will be looking to continue their run at the top of the Premier League. The Gunners will be looking for a win against Aston Villa when the two teams meet at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Aston Villa are one of the clubs that are doing well in the Premier League this season. They are currently sitting in fifth place. They are aiming for a fourth place finish that will qualify them for the Champions League.

Mikel Arteta has praised the work Unai Emery has done at Aston Villa since his arrival at the Villans.

“What they have done since Unai came in [is good]. They have made a huge impact on the club. They are still in a European competition and I am really impressed with what they have done,” Arteta said at his pre-match press conference.

“We don’t know what they are going to do [on Sunday]. They won last night and they are a good side. We know they’re dangerous and their strengths – we will try to win it.”

Arsenal will benefit from the scheduling as they will be aware of the results of their rivals, Manchester City who play today against Luton Town and Liverpool who play on Sunday against Crystal Palace. Mikel Arteta said that he is focused on his team and downplayed the importance of playing behind the title contenders.

“We will know the results, but we have our duty to win our game and that has already happened [previously this season]. It will happen in the next few weeks [too]. We will focus on what we can control.
